We are drawn to films for many reasons: great stories, stunning cinematography, evocative musical scores, deeply felt emotions, and the unique characters and relationships we experience through the camera’s lens.
Characters in film often touch you at your very core – because they mirror your own Inner Selves. You step into their lives as a silent presence within each scene.
Floating in another world, you forget yourself. You have impulses to respond, yet you are a powerless observer. What you can do is notice what comes up for you as a way to learn more about yourself and your relationships.
Your guides on this uniquely curated journey are an amazing, knowledgeable and insightful triad of teachers: Lion Goodman, Tamar Stone and Beth Scanzani. They are highly respected teachers and facilitators of Voice Dialogue and other transformational methods.

🍿 Why I Love Movies: Movies offer a free pass to an unlimited number of alternate realities where we can experience the full spectrum of humanity and human potential. When the movie ends, we come home to ourselves, carrying a goody bag of new insights, experiences, and deeper appreciation for life.
Most of us think of ourselves as a unified whole. But we are actually composed of multiple inner aspects called Selves. Our Selves are the many “voices in our head,” the parts of us that constantly vie for our attention. When out of balance, these Selves take over the wheel of our inner vehicle and steer us away from our essential nature. When in balance, these Selves offer their unique feelings, thoughts, and opinions to help us live authentically.
This invaluable lens of inner “Selves” or “Parts” provides a meaningful, transformative and ever-fascinating model for expanding your range of self-expression and choice. You may be familiar with other forms of “parts work” including Internal Family Systems, Psychosynthesis, Gestalt, and Inner Child Work.
Every actor on stage or screen portrays a fictional person with a unique psyche, mannerisms, and a way they respond to their inner and outer world. And of course, each character plays a role in relationships with other characters. They play out their motivations, fears and challenges – just as we do.
In the inner movie of your life, you play many different roles. How many times do you change characters every day? Perhaps your Inner Critic likes to jump in with it’s pointy finger whenever it gets a chance. Or maybe your Risk Manager takes over the control board when you’re about to make a big decision. Sometimes, quite unexpectedly, you may become overwhelmed with the fear or vulnerability of an Inner Child.
We all have a kaleidoscope of Selves living within us. Selves have strong desires, fears and viewpoints. They also offer us valuable gifts, talents, and perspectives to help us safely navigate our lives. Some you know well, and some you don’t know at all.
The good news is…
The more aware you become of your Inner Selves,
the more balance and perspective you have.
With this consciousness, you become
more aware, integrated, authentic and free
to choose how you’ll express yourself –
and what you’ll do in each moment.
This is the priceless gift of Voice Dialogue.
This fun and fascinating expedition is designed for therapists, coaches, Voice Dialogue and other Parts Work facilitators, healers, and those on the path of self-development. If you want to know yourself better, and live a more authentic, fully expressed and meaningful life, you’re in the right place.
Together, we will explore themes relating to our inherent vulnerability in being born human and the role of Selves in our childhood development and beyond.
We honor the vast myriad of Selves living within us and the role they play in our inner psyche and daily lives.
How It Will Work!
Each month, you’ll watch a specially selected movie in the comfort of your own home. Make popcorn! Invite your Parts to join you! We’ll provide you with a set of evocative questions and suggestions to use as lenses as you experience watching the movie – kind of like the 3D movie glasses you use to see what’s hidden.
The following week, we’ll gather together on Zoom for our monthly class to help you discover new perspectives and a richer understanding about yourself and others – through the lens of that month’s movie. Whether you attend live or listen to the recording, the combined insights and learnings that your teachers, other participants and your Inner Selves offer you can be profound – and life changing.
Month by month, your relationships with your Selves will become more clear and integrated. You’ll enhance your ability to express yourself using the full palette of your beautiful colors and textures.
